DYM Report Form
What: Mt. Samat Pilgrimage Animation Practice
Where: Camp Tolentino, Capitol Compound
When: Saturdays and Sundays of November 13 to December 5
Youth Animation is one of the strengths of the Mt. Samat Pilgrimage. It has been a regular part of the programme during the annual pilgrimage. For this reason, youth animators needed more time for weekend practices. Youth animators are composed of at least one hundred (100) youth delegates coming from different parishes and schools. Twenty (20) youth animators - five (5) from each vicariate - were chosen to be part of the core group that lead the vicariate practices. Every practice day seemed to be long and tiring for the youth animators and the Diocesan Youth Coordinating Council (DYCC) that facilitated it.
The practice started at 9:00 in the morning and ended at 4:00 in the afternoon. At the end of the day, everyone still carried smiles on their faces. It was not just for the animation songs that they rehearsed, but more importantly, they gained self-discipline, they became leaders on their own way and they had bonded with each other. It was not just for the dance steps that they learned for the whole day, but of the friendship they formed with each participant.
